Sharks Remain in Battle for Second Place

Wednesday evening at the the Shark Tank the Omstead Sharks shellacked the Mooretown Flags in the second half of there home and home series. The final score was 6-1.The win moved Wheatley into a momentary tie with Lakeshore one point ahead of the Blenheim Blades.Wheatley is behind league leading Essex 73,s by six points with a game in hand. First place is definetly not out of reach for any of these teams in the chase.
The boys from Wheatley displayed the balance this team has in the offensive department with six different scorers in this contest. The scorers were Jake Eaton, Kyle Bleau, Braedon Caetano, Braydin Metcalfe, Shannon Olson and Evan Cote.Sixteen year old affiliated player Owen Grieve filled in admirably for our injured and suspended players in the contest. Congrats Owen !!!
The Sharks now have until next Wednesday November 29th to prepare for when they will tackle the Lakeshore Canadiens, which is sure to be a truly entertaining match. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Wheatley Arena. This also will be Paint the Rink Pink Night in support of battling Breast Cancer that was postponed a few weeks back to mourn Sylvain Lessard’s sudden passing.RIP Sly !!!
