Sharks Lose Series to Canadiens in 5OT Heartbreaker

The Wheatley Sharks once again fought valiantly against the defending Schmulz Cup Champion Lakeshore Canadiens in their 2nd round playoff matchup.

The Sharks started the series strong, with the Sharks winning Game 1 by a 4-1 score. They followed that up with a overtime win on home ice in Game 2. Lakeshore then battled back winning games 3 & 4 convincingly. The Sharks rebounded from those 2 setbacks with a solid road effort in Game 5, but could not find the equalizer late in the game falling 5-3. Game 6 saw the Sharks & Canadiens compete toe to toe for an astounding 8 periods of hockey. The Sharks & Habs remained tied 4-4 at the end of regulation, and from there the two teams put on an epic display the PJHL has never seen, playing with guts & determination into the 5th Overtime period. Lakeshore finally prevailed with a shorthanded tally at 5:32 into the 5th OT, breaking the hearts of the many Sharks faithful who remained until the end.

Sharks wish to congratulate Lakeshore on a series well played.
