Playing there third game in four nights the Wheatley Omstead Sharks eeked out a 2-1 victory over the fifth place Mooreown Flags.The win vaulted the Sharks over the Blenheim Blades into third place and two points behind second place Lakeshore. Currently they trail the league leaders Essex 73’s by only four points.
Goal scorers in the win were Kyle Kelly and Jake Eaton with the eventual winner midway through the second period. Kelly also added an assist on Eaton’s game winner. Ethan Handley made 24 saves in the victory.
Next up for the Omstead Sharks will be the Blenheim Blades in a battle to see who retains or regains third place. It should be a good one!!! Face-off is at 7:30pm at the Wheatley Area Arena, also known as the Shark Tank .
