The 7-1 thumping that the Sharks put on Walpole Island Wild Saturday afternoon , November 11th kept them in the battle for second place in the Provincial Junior Hockey Leagues Stobb Division. The Sharks, Blenheim Blades and the Lakeshore Canadiens are all sitting with 22 points, 8 points behind the Essex 73,s. Lakeshore does have 2 games in hand however.
On Saturday, on Alumni Day the Sharks had the Wild in check from the opening faceoff.They outshot the visitors by a 47 to 16 margin. Captain Braedon Caetano led the attack with the hat trick. Josh Chauvin and Kyle Fleming notched their first goals of the season.Rounding out the scoring was Ethan Hamelin and Josh Bleau with their 16th and 9th goals.Jaxon Drysdale picked up his 6th victory of the season.
Next action for the Omstead Sharks will be a rare Friday night matchup in Essex vs the 73,s at 7:00pm-note no Wednesday home game this week
