Wheatley Omstead Sharks Aquire New Coach

The Wheatley Omstead Sharks are thrilled to announce Brad Hyatt as our new Head Coach for the upcoming season! Brad is one of Wheatley’s most successful hockey players and a name well known throughout our community. His journey from minor hockey in Wheatley to being drafted by the OHL’s Cornwall Royals in 1985, and then playing for Hamilton, Belleville, and Windsor, is nothing short of inspiring. Brad’s 1987-88 season with the Windsor Spitfires was a standout, leading all OHL defensemen and helping Windsor reach the Memorial Cup! He was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings, later continuing his professional career in the AHL. After his professional hockey career, Brad coached in the Southpoint Minor Hockey system and served as an assistant coach with the Sharks — helping guide the team to multiple Great Lakes Jr. C League Finals appearances. Brad is ready to lead a new generation of Sharks as our Head Coach, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead! Welcome back behind the bench, Brad!
