The Wheatley Omstead Sharks, on a goal, coast to coast style by Kyle Kelly eked out a nail biting 2-1 victory over Mooretown to propel them into a semi final series with the Lakeshore Canadiens. The game was knotted 1-1 from the midway point of the second period until Kelly went coast to coast and fired a shot over John Chartrand’s shoulder to send the over 250 fans into a wild frenzy. Kyle Bleau had steaked the Sharks to a 1-0 lead in the first period till the Flags tied things up in the middle of the second , setting the stage for the game and series winner. Brayden Metcalfe had assists on both Wheatley goals. Bleau also added an assist along with his tally.
The Wheatley Omstead Sharks will now face league champs Lakeshore Canadiens in a best of seven series. Game days and times will be announced soon.
