With playoff positioning finalized the Wheatley Omstead Sharks dropped their final regular season game to the Blenheim Blades. Owen Papulkas,pictured above, scored twice in the third period when the Sharks tried to mount a comeback down 4-0.They couldn’t beat the Blenheim goaltender with any more of their 30 shots on goal and were defeated by a final score of 4-2. Rookie goalie Ethan Davis of the Sharks faced a barrage of 46 shots in the contest.
Wheatley , by virtue of the Mooretown Flags 6-0 victory over Amherstburg Saturday evening had clinched fourth place entering Sundays defeat. First game of the 2024-2025 PJHL Playoffs will be battled against those same Amherstburg Admirals starting Wednesday, February 19th, Wheatley Area Arena, game time 7:30pm. The balance of the schedule has not been finalized at the time of this writing.
