Sharks Celebrate 22-23 Overagers

On Wednesday March 1, the Wheatley Sharks celebrated their 2022-23 Overage players.

Trent Amaro.

Trent is from Chatham, and played his minor hockey with Kent. Trent’s PJHL career spans 4 seasons from 2019 – 2023 and includes playing with the Exeter Hawks, Blenheim Blades and Dresden Kings. Trent was acquired mid season from Dresden to provide the Sharks veteran depth up front. Trent does the little things to help win hockey games, and the Sharks are looking forward to Trent contributing to our playoff push. Trent has registered 57 pts in 118 games played over his career.

Kristian Pelling.

Kristian is from Kingsville, played his minor hockey with Erie Northshore. Kristian joined the Sharks in 2019 and brought a tenacious waterbug style of play, providing spark & energy to lineup on a nightly basis. Unfortunately, Kristian has been hampered by injuries this year, however Pellz is now healthy and back in the lineup ready to help the Sharks playoff drive. Kristian has accumulated 47 points in 90 career games.

Captain Matt Carvahlo. Matt is originally from Leamington, and moved to Wheatley with his family a few years ago. Matt played his minor hockey with Southpoint, Sun County & Belle River. Matt joined the Sharks in 2017-18 as the Sharks 16 yr old that season. He made the jump to Junior B the following season with the Lasalle Vipers and played there for 2 seasons. Carvey returned to Wheatley in 2020, once again thrilling the Sharks faithful with his aggressive, feisty & relentless style of play. Matt has registered 109 points in 195 games played over his junior career with the Lasalle & Wheatley. Matt’s tenaciousness & leadership on & off the ice will be greatly missed by the Sharks organization.
