Mooretown Eeks Out Victory

Monday evening, with Wheatley leading the best of seven quarter finals series 2 games to none , the Mooretown Flags came into town, took advantage of a couple of lucky breaks and skated home with a 4-3 victory. The visitors had built a 4-1 lead late into the second period. One of the goals was on a dump in that hit the ice in front of Wheatley goaltender Ethan Handley, and took a right turn into the corner of the net. Another tally was deflected off a Shark defenceman on a puck shot from the corner of the rink.Goal scores for the home team were Josh Chauvin,Vito Alfano and Brendan Pitrie.

The Flags still were full marks for the victory closing down the Sharks from any consistant pressure on their goalie. Wheatley will need to pick up the pace in Mooretown Wednesday evening in attempting to come home with a 3-1 lead in the series. Next game in Wheatley will be Friday evening at the Shark Tank. Game time will be 8:00pm. Plan to be there–It will be a good one!!!!!
