Blades Nip Sharks in OT

The hometown Wheatley Omstead Sharks roared out to a 2-0 lead in the first period only to let it slide away in overtime to the Blenheim Blades. Goals by Josh Chauvin(12) and Vito Alfano(15) gave Wheatley a 2-0 lead in the first period. The stellar play of the first frame dwindled as the game went on, until the Blades tied matters up middle of the third to force overtime. Three minutes into the overtime an unguarded Blenheim player slid the puck into the wide open side oF the net to secure the victory.

These victories are all important to the Sharks as the season dwindles. Third place would be a reachable goal and give the boys homeice for at least one series when the playoffs arrive.
