The Wheatley Sharks after a somewhat slow start to the season have managed to even their record at 5 wins and 5 losses with a well earned 4-2 victory over the first place Essex 73’s. The home team clawed back twice from one goal deficits to enter the third period knotted at two goals apiece.The Omstead Sharks fired to only two goals of the third period to earn the victory 4-2.
Goal scorers for the Sharks were rookie Xander Zanier(4th), Josh Chauvin(4th), D-man Gavin Wasylyk(2nd) with the powerplay winner and Brendan Gouin(3rd). Vito Alfano was again instrumental in the victory with two helpers. Other assists went to Jaydon Ferguson,Xander Zanier, Brendan Gouin and former 73 Ryan Basile.Rookie netminder Adam Flanagan played well stopping 32 of 34 shots for the Sharks.
